614 Wellington NZ had their official opening on Sunday their was a turn out of 80 people at the equipping station in Island bay. We had a flag raising ceremony out side where we talked about how a flag in the old testament represented the rallying of a group of warriors and for us today how our flag represents the battle call of the Salvation army 614 warriors into battle with the blood of Jesus and the fire of the holy spirit leading the way.

We spoke about how the island bay site was the equipping station for Christians and how we meet there on Sundays for worship fellowship teaching and accountability with the following Sunday being an "out doors Sunday" tying into the teaching and challenge of the week before. Our mission being rooted in the 614 essentials with a call to serve the troubled youth of Wellington. We spoke about how we are not a youth church as such but that our call is to youth and any one who wants to buy into the vision are more than welcome to join.

Divisional Commander Rod Carey gave an inspiring message on Luke 14 verse 15 to 23 on how we as servants need to remember our salvation roots and do all we can to bring people to the banquet.

The youth at our Wednesday service are very excited that we have become a 614 church they really like the numbers 614 and have embraced the transition from being a youth services to becoming a Corps in the Salvation Army. They are excited about going to the Taupo touch rugby sevens.
