614 Sydney is planted at Streetlevel Inner-City Mission,
a life giving community for people in the City of Sydney who are excluded,
downtrodden and forgotten.
Streetlevel Mission located in Inner-City Surry Hills, is a community centre
that seeks to serve suffering humanity in radical and relevant ways. It hosts
the Streetlevel Food Market (See Article), provides lunch, shower/laundry and
locker facilities, internet access, and welfare assistance to hundreds everyday.
Streetlevel also runs several weekly groups (Art, Karaoke, Exercise, Music, Prayer,
Sowing, Bible Study) that give people a chance to belong, have a blast, and learn
life skills all at the same time. Every Friday night (without fail!) is Streetlevel’s
infamous Church Service. Doors open at 5:30pm and we start with fellowship over
dinner before firing into the service at 6pm. Loud, passionate and often off-key
singing follow before we enter into everyone’s favourite segment, Care&Share,
basically an open mice where people from community can share their week, the
good and the bad. It's a beautiful and powerful night every week, which has to
be seen to be experienced, if you’re ever in the area all are welcome and we’d
love to see you there! At Streetlevel we seek to be a place of hope of healing
and of restoration.
Streetlevel is also the home of 614:edify. EDIFY will provide up to 9 months
of incarnational living, serving and working in a poor and marginalised urban
context. EDIFY participants can be accommodated at Streetlevel Mission and will
be taught and trained, through theory and hands-on experience, to effectively
be Jesus to the Lost the Last and the Least. EDIFY is an Urban Mission experience
immersed in essentials of spiritual development and discipleship, worship and
mission, service and social action. You will get to know God and yourself in
