SAROOTS
ROOTS exists to call Salvationists to Biblical Christianity, radical discipleship, contemporary communication of the gospel and a passion for the lost, which are at the ‘root’ of The Salvation Army and the Christian Church.
ROOTS is a Salvation Army event and community. ROOTS is currently held in the UK, Canada and USA South, an is connected with an entire events network. We are a Salvation Army community who are passionate about discipleship and mission in the 21st century.
SOCIAL JUSTICE, MISSIONS & DISCIPLESHIP
We aim to help transform the world as part of our response to Christ. We are part of the global Christian Church responding to the needs of our global communities. The ROOTS events highlight ways for people to “get involved” beyond the practical need of dollar, to leadership training options, and local Army mission projects. We are local and global. As a body of believers we have a responsibility to each other, accountability, discipleship and community. God calls us into relationship with each other as part of his Church.
WORSHIP
All ROOTS events seek to offer opportunities for worship that are God centered, renewing and refreshing. Also using local musicians which is part of our mandate to train local leaders.
PRAYER
The spiritual discipline of prayer is essential. We incorporate prayer into everything that we do. In addition we have a prayer venue
BIBLE TEACHING
ROOTS events seek to unwrap the bible in ways that are easily accessible without compromising the truth of the gospel. The bible is alive with truth and we seek to be a vessel of that life.
LOCAL LEADERSHIP
We use local leaders in each aspect of SAROOTS, in order to train leaders and incorporate people into the process.
COMMUNITY
SAROOTS is about bringing our Salvation Army family together for celebration, teaching, worship and fellowship. It is the family gathering that renews, refreshes, refocuses; ready for the new things God has in store for us. Isaiah 43:19 “See, I am doing a new thing! Do you not perceive it?”
