Kids’ Squads
Squads is an activity-based Bible program for children 6-12. It is the equivalent to running small groups for kids. Each week 10 squads meet at The Salvation Army, in other churches, homes and community agencies to invest in the lives of over 130 children. Each squad has an average of 3-4 volunteer leaders who take turns leading Bible Study and prayer, running games and activities and preparing a meal for the children.
We have chosen to have a children's ministry in this format because we believe that relationships change lives - ours and theirs. In the small group context we are able to interact more with the children. The squad directors also make time to visit the children's homes each week and many leaders spend time with the children outside of the squad time to build relationships. This also affords them the opportunity to connect with parents and to build relationships with the whole family.
In addition to our squads we attempt to meet once a quarter for Kid's Church, a time when all the squads can get together to worship, pray and hear the Word.
Once a year, we go away to our very own March Break Camp to rest, play and learn more about the amazing God we serve.
