Anger Management
Anger is a normal, healthy emotion, but sometimes it can get out of control and become destructive; feeling like it is taking over your life. “The goal of anger management is to reduce both your emotional feelings and the psychological arousal that anger causes. You cannot get rid of, or avoid, the things or the people that enrage you, nor can you change them, but you can learn to control your reactions”.
Self-awareness is vital for effective anger-management. Understanding how we are affected, triggered and influenced through crises help us to respond effectively rather than react inappropriately. The anger management program assists people in beginning to identify and manage what they bring to each crisis situation.
We presently offer a 10-week co-ed adult anger-management course, a 16-week partner abuse course and a teen anger management course. In addition, we offer conflict and crisis invention workshops for a variety of groups.

“Within the first three weeks, there was a noticeable change in the participants; participants were putting what they learned into practice and sharing it with the class. My opinion changed within the first three weeks from thinking that the participants would not participate or even be open to the material being covered.”
"Ann" attended an anger management class at 614. She then pursued counselling with us, visited our Corps and now has rededicated her life in a stronger way to Jesus. She is now a youth outreach work, and does statistical recording ministry.
