The area: Fitton Hill is a large social housing area in the old mill town of Oldham. Due to a massive decline in traditional industry this area has become increasingly deprived over the last few decades. The main social issues include crime, unemployment, low self esteem and quality of health. Yet Fitton Hill is resilient and proud. Things are changing and getting better.

Team Members: Volunteers have a variety of different backgrounds. Some have moved into the neighbourhood, some have joined us from the community and some have grown up from our youth programme. This rich mix in people helps us with a large youth and family programme and is a strong representation of our community.

The work: We have a full family programme which includes support and advice, activities and trips. Our youth programme has many clubs and activities contacting 100+ young people a week. However our main focus is on mentoring and developing young people. We also have a growing church community who support this and each other.
