Job Opportunity: Hope Community Church is seeking a
Youth Pastor / Community Outreach Coordinator

Hope is a progressive church with a desire to impact our community for God. We have a passion to help people realize God’s love in their lives, begin a journey of faith in God, grow in their knowledge of Christ through small groups and to live out their faith through service to others. Our worship style is contemporary and casual, and the atmosphere is best described as “denim and coffee”. Hope is a young Salvation Army evangelical church planted in 2000 and while people of all ages are presently a part of Hope we are particularly full of young families. Our worship location is a private school within a residential community serving the growing municipalities of Ajax & Pickering, just east of Toronto, with a combined population of over 200,000. We own two buildings for our weekday programs, counseling centre, community services, food bank, café and administration.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, energized team player with excellent relational and organizational skills to join our pastoral team to:

grow a strong Youth Ministry by providing hands-on leadership and building healthy relationships
serve the needs of the youth in Hope Community Church and the broader community through relevant and dynamic programming. effective discipling and caring relationships
reach out to youth in the community through Hope’s community services ministries to help meet needs and connect them with Hope Community Church’s caring community
ensure effective Children’s Ministry by providing oversight and support to programs and by mentoring and empowering volunteer leaders.

If you have an undergraduate degree or several years of related proven youth ministry experience, please prayerfully consider applying to join the existing Hope Leadership Team of four staff, six lay leaders and volunteers filling over 270 ministry roles.

Salary: $27,000 - $45,000

Job Opportunity: Youth & Family Coordinator, The Salvation Army, Weetamah, MB, Canada
Responsibilities:

Provide leadership to Youth and family Ministries
To assist as required with, Weetamah Street Ministry, Urban Café, COMMUNITY SERVICES and other community outreach initiatives.
Assure the recruitment, training and deployment of volunteers / students and leaders for Weetamah Youth & Family Ministries.
Responsible for the future development and delivery of Midnight Challenge, Kids Club, After School Homework Clubs, Sunday School program,
Responsible for the future development of prevention and intervention strategies for at risk youth and children in consultation with Ministry Director.
Encourage the development of relationships and partnerships with other inner city agencies, churches, and community organizations.
Encourage the social-spiritual growth and leadership development of Youth and Children within the community through visitation, mentoring, and discipleship.
Provide leadership and support, in conjunction with the Ministries Director, for annual events / programs (Christmas Kettle Campaign, Seasonal Dinners, Christmas Toy Center and Toy Drive and other special events).
Assure all records, correspondence, statistics, etc. pertaining to Weetamah ministries are kept up to date.)
Assist with Congregational Ministry as required (preaching, worship etc.)
Assist with annual budget related to area of Ministry in conjunction with Ministry Director.
Responsible for the development of new ministry initiatives, in conjunction with Ministry Director. Prepare any necessary contracts, proposals, etc. required for such initiatives.

Job Opportunity: Thrift Store Team Leader
Location: The Salvation Army Prince Rupert

To successfully qualify for the position of Team Leader of the Thrift Store the individual
will be a grade 12 graduate and able to accomplish assigned tasks in a timely matter without needing constant direct supervision. Be professional in appearance, attitude & conduct, understanding that this position represents a public position in The Salvation Army. Report directly to the Corps Officer or Team Captain. Understand that the Thrift Store is more than just a retail-clothing outlet, it is a ministry unit of The Salvation Army Church, Prince Rupert, and as such, seeks to represent Jesus Christ and express this intangible ways within the community. Be able to lead the to day operations of the Thrift Store including:

Ensuring all unsorted merchandise is properly graded and displayed As instructed.
Ensure the pricing and displaying of all merchandise is in accordance With set guidelines and establish pricing on unique and unusual items.
Refer inquires to other Salvation Army Agencies
Complete daily cash deposits, payroll, and other administrative duties Associated with the overall operations of the store
Forward weekly cash reports & Bi-weekly payroll reports to Corps Office Be concerned with reaching, and where possible, exceeding sales budgets.
Always looking for ways the team can find new ways to improve sales and meet the high demand of customer satisfaction Be able to implement appropriate changes to store and merchandise layout, sales and specials, etc., as instructed. Be responsible for the proper care and use of all Thrift Store property, its upkeep, cleanliness and professional presentation ensuring safety standards for customers and staff as instructed. Job Opportunity: Feeding Programs Coordinator
Location: The Salvation Army Prince Rupert

Purpose: To be nurturing and spiritually supportive to volunteers and patrons of the Soup Kitchen and Food Bank, to oversee planning, preparation and serving of daily and special meals in the Soup Kitchen, and to provide general oversight to the Food Bank.
Requirements:

Uniformed Salvationist preferred

Supervisor: Corps Officers
Supervised: Soup Kitchen / Food Bank staff and volunteers
Responsibilities:

oversees the planning, preparation and serving of daily and special meals in the Soup Kitchen, following food safe guidelines
recruits, trains, orients, disciplines and manages performance for Food Bank staff provides spiritual support (praying with, listening to) to feeding program patrons links patrons to other Salvation Army ministries and services, as appropriate refers feeding program patrons to other community services, as appropriate maintains the readiness of the Fire Response kit in case of emergencies coordinates special meal events (including Christmas, Easter, and Thanksgiving) oversees daily food bank operations, ensuring optimum service delivery coordinates Christmas food hamper program gratefully receives food donations for Soup Kitchen and Food Bank recruits, orients, trains and schedules volunteers for the Soup Kitchen and Food Bank assists in setting new direction and vision for the Feeding Programs Ministry assists the Food Bank Worker in interviewing clients and arranging appropriate assistance
maintains statistical records for the Soup Kitchen and Food Bank, providing reports to supervisors as scheduled
regularly monitors expenditures for Soup Kitchen and Food Bank against budgetary provisions, reporting any concerns to supervisor
